This hefty Imperial Stout had a brief stint on stainless before being transferred into freshly emptied Basil Hayden’s Bourbon barrels, it was then laid to rest for 12 months. We hand selected one barrel which we felt stood out from the rest, and that liquid is what you're currently holding in your hands. This beer encompasses all of the characteristics we love in a Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout - rich dark chocolate, hints of coffee, mild charred oak and vanilla, along with subtle notes of bourbon and just enough warmth to give you a big ol' hug from the inside. A perfect sipper for the season.

Poured from 355mL can (thanks fiery1). Near black with small beige head. Bourbon, vanilla, a very well balanced imperial stout. Enjoy it slightly better than the 2021 (Heaven Hill) based on overall balance, but very similar.

One of the best barrel aged imp stouts we've ever had. Whole family raved.

Jet black with a rich light brown head. Dark chocolate, cocoa and some barrel notes. Molasses and nice chocolate sweetness, silky with some bourbon heat.

Can. Dark brown. Not a lot of head. Boozy aroma, with some chocolate in there. But that barrel is intense. Freshly emptied, huh. Big, thick body. Very rich. Chocolatey, syrupy, big whack of barrel, sweet bourbon. Finishes woody and dry, with quite a bit of alcohol. I'm digging that something that seems simple on the aroma is big, burly and fairly complex on the palate.

Can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Nose is full of wonderful bourbon barrels, with a bit of charred oak, gentle vanilla, dark cocoa, and a touch of leather -- yum. Flavour is remarkably rich and sweet, with lots of vanilla, plenty of barrel character, molasses, and brown sugar. There's a bit of smoky charred oak towards the end of the palate, but the sugars quickly cover that over. It's very sweet, but held in check by the monstrous barrel presence and alcohol -- quite warming. Excellent.

Holding up perfectly.

Gently carbonated. Aroma: malt, chocolate, alcohol. Excellent blend of chocolate and whiskey, with more milk chocolate in the finish, smooth, sweet but not syrupy, warming but not boozy.

Black colour, brown head. The aroma of bourbon is delicate, notes of chocolate, elegant. Smooth mouthfeel, the alcohol packs a punch immediately, chocolate flavour, not too sweet, but full bodied, light notes of biscuits, sweet bourbon. Elegant.
