Can from Legacy LRS, Vancouver
Blond colour, mostly clean. Mild aroma of malt, wet hay, herbaceous hops. Good body structure; the malt is present, also with a little toasty note; the hopping is balanced, with some herbaceous character; it's not as crisp, nor as hoppy as the original Tipopils, but it's solid.

I would first like to assure the 33B copywriters that not all Italians are classy. Or svelte. Bright, but the colour itself is leaning towards dull. Not much head, either. The aroma comes across with a big malt character, and a sort of sulphury allium-oriented hop aroma. On the palate, that same hop character, overlaid on a fat rich malt base that unfortunately seems a bit flabby. Just not coming in bright, those malts, not the way I get from Tipopils, which apparently is the inspiration for the Italian Pilsner trend. So it's certainly decent, but neither the malt nor hop character is lean and bright enough to really lay claim to anything close to Tipopils. Maybe more like a superior attempt at Peroni Doppio Malto.

473mL can, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Nose is somewhat crisp, with a decent grassy hop bite, straw, and biscuity malt sharpness. Flavour follows accordingly, with moderate grassy hop bite, gentle bitterness, straw, and biscuity malt. Not the most crisp or biting pilsner, but it's constructed nicely and is very drinkable. Pleasant.
