Bottle at Ryan's
Black colour. Maple and dark chocolate aroma. Salty dark chocolate flavour, semi-dry, some tobacco, maple. A bit too roasty for my taste.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Very dark brown with small tan head. Nice coffee notes with a bit of maple. Decent.

(500ml bottle from 4th and 7, Toronto) Pours black with a small dark tan ring of bubbles. Aroma is a big punch of dark maple syrup and medium to dark roast brewed coffee with some light malt backing. Flavour is dark malt sugars, maple and sweet black coffee up front, some roasted grain for body, earthy through the middle of the sip and fading from heavily to moderately sweet in the finish with subtle bitterness, lots of coffee and piles of maple into the aftertaste. Rather light/thin watery body for style, very low carbonation, no real alcohol presence. Nice maple coffee punch in this one with notes much more reminiscent of US style stouts now than most ON producers can manage, but the body is too weak and doesn't quite hold up the beer.

Dark brown. Lots of coffee and maple on the aroma. On the palate, and it's heavy on coffee, with a touch of maple, fairly rich sugars. Seems very rough and unpolished, but the maple makes it fun.

500ml straight from the source (thx, Chris!) at Matt's amenity room. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: sweet coffee with maple, some roasted malts. Taste: tons of maple, some coffee and roasted malts. Overall: 🍁 💣, most probably great for the most of Canadians, however, I am for the balance, hehe.

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Nose is loaded with intense maple upfront, followed by robust coffee and roasted malt. Flavour is more expressive on the coffee here, with loads of rich, dark roasted coffee, accentuated by maple, and some gentle bitterness on the finish to combine the maple. Roasty and gently sweet. Very good.
