Tasting at Matt's, vintage 2019, bottle
Solid imperial stout, with very strong alcohol punch; there is a good balance of roasted malt and chocolate, then rounded off by the bourbon; moderately sweet.
Boozy dark chocolate, good.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out medium roasted malt, moderate bourbon, and some wood. Flavour is robust, with lots of robust roasted malt, a strong bourbon character, wood, and even some forceful hops. Really competent barrel age use. This is excellent.

22oz at Matt's amenity room. Appearance: almost black with a light beige head. Aroma: lots of molasses, some roasty character, moderately sweet. Taste: along the same lines, quite harsh and boozy, on the spirit side, good body, roasty. Overall: not elegant, but it is a good try.

Jet black brown with a decent light brown head. Bourbon, roast and chocolate. Sticky and sweet with bourbon and dark chocolate. Decent.

Dark brown. Thin head. On the nose, it's got a touch of toasty, graham cracker, that sort thing. It's got some sweet stuff up front, a fair bit of bitterness. The bourbon is not bad - comes across a bit rough, but both components (base + barrel) are good. So ends up solid.
