Phantasm a brand new dryhop product from NZ which helps with intense tropical thiol precursors, for biotransformation. Derived from freeze dried NZ Marlborough Sauv Blanc grapes, this unique product is like MSG for hazy IPAs! Rich big hazy IPA, fresh goodeberry (sic), citrus peel ripe tropical fruit and orange blossom.

Dullish opaque pale, getting dangerously close to a grey colour. Thin head. Lots of hop, some sweeter, brighter fruit notes, getting into the rambutan zone

Can from the brewery
Cloudy pale yellow colour, dull, ugly. Mild fuity aroma (tropical, mango), lightly cheesy. Dirty mouthfeel, the flavour is a mess too, with some harsh fruit and some astringency in the finish; it seems a bit drier or more carbonated than Betty, and lightly minty, otherwise they feel very similar; one of the worst IPAs I had in some time, and it was $6.50 from the brewery, screw you!

16oz on Alex's porch. Appearance: hazy dirty straw with a weak white head. Aroma: a little bit dusty (less than Betty) with tropical fruits character with some herbal character. Taste: along the same lines, quite dry and herbal. Overall: ok.

On tap at Main Street, pours a cloudy, somewhat dirty yellow with a small white head. Nose is somewhat tangy, bringing out a more white wine character from the hops than Betty did, along with earthiness and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour reveals a pleasant tangy, white wine hop character, with crisp biscuity malt. The clarity of the hop expression is noticeably better on this one than Betty. Somewhat bright and only lightly bitter finish. Good.
