Dull, amber and flat. Not totally out of line for a gruit, mind you. Big herbs - rosemaryish yarrow, quite tart, wild, big herbal character. Really nice gruit.

A dink pour shared with Matt. Appearance: a bit hazy amber with a white head. Aroma: roots and herbs, no surprise. Taste: herbally, some balsamic notes. Overall: ok.

On tap at Garden Path, pours a clear dark-ish amber orange with a small white head. Aroma somehow reveals a really tasteful blend of the herbs, with not too much soil — there's even a malty sweetness detectable. Flavour is much the same, with lots of bready malt, light-to-moderate tartness, and plenty of earthy herbal notes. I really don't like most of these herbs, but somehow they're integrated pretty well without any individual one dominating. Impressively crafted for a style I usually detest.
