Amber, with a chill haze, and a medium head. Pear, lychee, grapefruit and a bit of allium on the nose. On the palate, big pale malt base, and a lot of alcohol taste. The hops still have a bit of grapefruit, maybe pear, but they are not nearly as prominent in the face of the massive malt onslaught. So there are some good elements, but the balance isn't 100% for me.

Taster shared with Matt. Appearance: almost clear golden with a white head. Aroma: resinous, piney, some citrusy and a bit of vegetable notes. Taste: along the same lines, nice body, bitter aftertaste. Overall: good example of the West Coast DIPA.

On tap at Chuck's Hop Shop - Greenwood, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with fresh piney hops, resinous hop oils, and just enough sweet malt to balance. Flavour is oily, with lots of robust resinous hop oils, a strong pine character, and crisp, lightly sweet biscuity malt back. Beautifully balanced; it's forceful in the piney and resinous hops, has an ample malt backbone, yet it's all that bitter on the finish. Really great.
