So we got a little distracted when it came to celebrating our birthday last year. What can you do? Pandemics will do that. But it’s a new year and we want to celebrate with you so we made 2 anniversary beers in one!
For this we took bourbon barrel-aged barleywine and blended it with peated whiskey barrel-aged barleywine to make one enormous beer worthy of celebration. Only available for limited time, this rich and smokey barleywine is fit to age or drink right away.

16 oz. can, pours black with a hint of mahogany with a small tan head. Nose is dominated by the peat whiskey upfront, with a touch of bourbon, dark dried fruits, and toffee. Flavour is rich and elegant, with lots of peated whiskey barrels, bourbon, dark dried fruits, molasses, toffee, and burnt sugars. The peated whiskey reigns supreme here; wonderful depth, adequate sweetness, and the alcohol is well-situated. Wonderful stuff.

Can. Pours hazy reddish chestnut, small beige head, minimal lacing. Aroma is peat, toffee, bourbon. Flavor is medium plus sweet, light bitter, peaty, ashtray. Medium body. Quite interesting. Definitely polarizing opinions on this one.
