Rich, malty German lager with a ruby hue and light noble hop aromatics. Medium-full body, smooth and warming, hints of dark fruit and toasted chocolate.

Sweet doppelbock, nice barrel. Medium brown. I like the way the barrel lends dryness to this, it comes across with a lot less sweetness than the base

On tap at Deschutes - Portland, pours a clear chestnut brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, alien light herbaceousness and gentle nuttiness. Flavour is much the same, with toasted malt, gentle caramel and a hint of herbaceousness. Medium-sweet, with a bready caramel finish. Good stuff.
