Rich, luscious nose combining a good amount of base malt and black malt to give an almost fudgey character up front that dries out with licorice, dark chocolate and some piney hop. Great aroma strength, and clean and bright with no alcohol or overdone dark malt.
Richly malty with a great body and texture for its size. Chewy, gently sweet, but still properly attenuated with good acidity from hop and black malt on the finish. Old school character but with ample body to balance all the acidity. Clean and flavorful.

On tap at Von Ebert NW, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out woody notes, roasted malt and some piney hops. Flavour is robust, with a deep roasted malt character, backed by plenty of hops, and some nice woodiness. Dry and forceful, with great balance. Expertly brewed.
