On tap at Von Ebert NW, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is quite perfumey, bringing out the port upfront and intense turmeric — what the hell eh? Flavour somehow works, with lots of port wine upfront, followed bourbon, a touch of spicy turmeric, and some Xmas spices. I would never think these flavours would go well together but then again, I'm in Portland, and these breweries know what they're doing. Great stuff.
