ABV: 10.4% IBU: - Ticks: 5
The base of this blend is our award winning Pothole Filler Imperial Stout aged 9 months in bourbon barrels. It was then blended with additional Imperial Stout and Abbey Quad to become Storm Watching. It has a sweet aroma, with vanilla bean and dark chocolate emerging the strongest, but supported by additional complexities of honey, oak, espresso, hazelnut, almond milk, nutmeg, and blueberry.

Poured from 473mL can (canned 2021-11-18). Near black with small beige head. Fruity dark chocolate, some wood, aroma is better than the taste, okay. One of the better recent Howe Sound imperial stouts.

16oz @ Ryan's shared with Alex (thx for the beer, man!) after 11h non-stop working day. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: American oak, some sweetness, some dark fruits and meaty notes. Taste: along the same lines, moderate body. Overall: ok.

2024-02-10, can from the brewery, 7-4-7-3-15=36
Dark chocolate, good body, but not much depth of flavours, light liquorice. Meh.

2022-01-21, can at Weathered 2022, Vancouver, 7-4-7-3-15=36
Dark colour, almost black. Moderately sweet, good body, dark chocolate flavour, some roastiness, alcohol, light barrel.
It's a bit rough, no much complexity; it's not a winning Imperial Stout, but it's quite powerful.

473 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of chocolate nougat, vanilla, soft bourbon and soft roasted malts. Flavors follow same with emphasis on soft oaky bourbon and a bitter chocolate finish. Very good.

473mL can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is cohesive, with gentle bourbon barrels, moderate roast, and a touch of dried fruits. Flavour is much the same, with plenty of bourbon barrel character, moderate roast, a touch of espresso, and light fruitiness. Cohesive and complex; this elevates the base Pothole Filler beautifully. Excellent.
