An ode to the bounty of Willamette Valley harvest, Valley Preserves is a refreshing and jammy sour ale intended to capture the essence of fruit preserves. Beginning its life as two different blonde beers, part of the blend was aged on biodynamically grown blueberries from our neighbors at King Estate before being blended with beer that had been conditioned on whole Oregon cherries from Hood River and aged for over two years in our cellar. The resulting vibrant magenta liquid explodes with luscious fruit character that is balanced against a firm, oak-induced, tannin structure and a crisp, dry finish. We hope it invokes images for you of fresh berries, stained fingertips, and soul-warming sunshine.

Barrels: French oak

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small purpleish pink head. Aroma is deep on the cherries and boysenberries, with lots of tannins and oak, cherry pits, and a hint of blueberry skins. Flavour is very fruity and tart, with lots of deep boysenberries, blueberries and cherries, with lots of red wine tannins, and tons of oak. Lovely depth to the fruit, with lots of musty fruit skins, finishing on oak and vinous tannins. Excellent.

Nice gentle berries and cherries. Medium light funk upfront, really should have saved this for summer either this year or last year I guess but still great this mellow day.

500 ml corked and caged. 2021 bottle. Exquisite aroma has notes of jammy berries, oak, funk. Pours nearly clear ruby red with a one finger purple-white head that falls quickly into a ring. Taste is moderately sour (7/10) with flavors of berries and oak and funk. Highly carbonated foamy mouthfeel. Nice beer.

Boysenberries are pretty dominating here, as is the French oak. Lesser degrees of sour cherry and blueberry. Super tasty finish with lots of oaky acid. Ruby pour without much head. Tap at Dominion.
