Nice lingering bitterness and smoke, upfront delicious breadiness.

Can from Tavour. Pours metallic amber with a large creamy off-white head. Aroma is woody smoke. Not quite med body. Flavor is bready malt, but the smoke dominates it. It is nicely bitter as well.

16 oz. can, pours a hazy dark amber with a medium beige head. Nose brings out gentle campfire smoke and bready malt. Flavour is fairly dry, with a nice campfire smoke, bready malt, and some biscuity notes. Fairly dry, with a nice campfire character. Very good.

Tasting at Ryan's, can
Dark amber colour with copper hue, hazy. Nice smoke aroma, malt, sweet, hints of schinken. Mellow mouthfeel, but the body is not as strong as, let's say, Aecht Schlenkerla; some malt and caramel, smoke; a bit flat and weak in the finish. Good, but makes me wonder if it tastes better on tap.

Poured from 473mL can. Slightly hazy amber brown with small white head. Nice smoke character, light earthy sweetness to the malt, okay.

16oz @ Ryan's. Appearance: a bit hazy copper with a white head. Aroma: moderately smoky, a bit earthy. Taste: along the same lines, moderately crispy, dry at the end. Overall: ok.

Amber, with a slight haze. Medium head. Lots of smoke right up front. On the palate, it's got lots of smoke, and a bit of sweet juicy amber malt. The malt base is good, but a touch heavy. It's also a bit yeasty, but the smoke character is certainly good.
