Cask ale at the brewpub in Oakham. Shared with Finn. A bright amber coloured body, steady pearl white head, dotted spots on the glass. Distant dough fruity nose, Blended taste of dusty hops and earthy malts. Hints of resinous bitterness to the ending. Satisfying. (11.02.2019).

Gravity cask at the Drayman’s Son, Ely. Mid- to dark gold, clear with a thin white head. Malty and slightly smoky aroma, with a hint of papaya and a notable vegetal note. Taste is refreshing and sweet, but quite bland, and there’s further vegetal notes leading into the finish. Not one of their more memorable beers, and nothing like an IPA, so not really recommended except for the tick.

Flavours were fruitiness, grass, earth, toffee, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A tasty brew with a lot of English hops.
