Should you ever happen upon a double-headed serpent, do not engage it in conversation. An earthly embodiment of dualism, this creature is notoriously dangerous, prone to endless debate over the polarity of life & death, day & night, good & evil... If you do find yourself in such quarrelsome company, offer them a sip or two of this aromatic double dry-hopped IPA whose hazy tropical character is sure to distract them long enough for you to slip away, unnoticed.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Cloudy blond colour. Some jam and some pine in the aroma. Muddy base, light chalk/oats cream, but the hopping is off here, with vegetable bitterness and pith hiding some piney resins, and the alcohol being very evident.
Extremely messy; I can drink it but just because of personal high tolerance.

Feb 10, 2026 (6/3/7/3/13=3.2): Poured from 473mL can (canned 01/30/2026). Hazed gold with off white head. Mild tropical hops, feint allium and booze, a bit subdued, average.

Apr 19, 2023 (6/3/6/3/13=3.1): Poured from 473mL can (canned 03/06/2023; thanks fiulijn). Cloudy dull yellow gold with small white head. Onion, citrus, stone fruit, mild chalk, it’s fine, but nothing stands out. Overall meh.

473mL can, pours an opaque orangey yellow with a medium white head. Nose is a boatload of allium and chalk galore, with a very muffled earthiness. Flavour is juicy and lacking bitterness, with plenty of oniony hops, some citrus, a bit of chalk, and sweet overriped stone fruits. The allium doesn't bother me as much as it bothers Oakes, but it's just a clumsy beer: sweet, overripe fruitiness, lacking much in the way of hop expression, and has a muffled palate like so many hazies. Not hard to drink, but it just strikes me as a pointless, poorly executed hazy DIPA.

Hazy, thick head. Super oniony citra on this, with thick pale malts. Moderate bitterness, again onions, not much else. The malts are gooey, not dialled in at all really. The galaxy is lost in a sea of allium, and ultimately the only other thing you get is an irrelevant bit of alcohol in the finish. Rare miss from one of the city's most reliable breweries.
