Cask at the Union Tavern - London. Pours perfectly clear golden-brown with a frothy, light tan head. Damp, leafy hops in the nose, some earth, bready malts. Lots of moist earth and rotting wood in the flavor, low sweetness, light astringency, mouldy whole grain bread. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. More mouldy bread to finish, some grain husk, bitter leaves. Pretty rubbish. Could be in shabby condition.

Cask at the Essex & Wenlock, 12/06/14. Murky dark amber/chestnut brown with a moderate beige swirl and edgeing. Nose is bitter fruit, toffee, light spice, orchard twinge. Taste comprises dark fruits, toffee rinse, orchard fruit, brown bread, earthy tones. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, drying close with prominent bitter notes. So so - not sure this was in the best of condition but I’ve had worse in recent times, at least it wasn’t a full on blandometer in the red!
