Blond colour, chill haze, small head. The aroma is nice; stone fruit seems to prevail over some Brett. I don't think there are sugars left, but it's not crispy-dry as I would have expected/liked; some funk, but also some soapiness in the mouthfeel, bit of yeast cake; fruit again, grape this time.
Nice.

Lata, de Legacy. Amber, with a slight haze and a thin head. The pinot is prominent on the nose, with a bit of barrel. On the palate, it's a bit sweet, lots of barrel, lots of pinot. Wouldn't say buggy, but I wish it was, because this would be pretty good with a splash of brett kicking in to dry it out. Good body. One of the things I look for in a barrel beer is balance - this isn't bad but not perfect. Another thing I look for is the barrel delta - the barrel is really raising the base a lot here. If it's not the best beer I've had from Shipyards Brewing, it's close.

Poured from 355mL can. Clear dull gold with small white head. Mostly a showcase of the pinot gris with some mild saison yeast and light funk. A nice surprise from this brewery and well worth the cost.

12oz @ Matt's new place. Appearance: clear golden with a weak white head. Aroma: grapes, some funk and barrel. Taste: along the same lines, nicely balanced funk, grapes, and barrel character. Overall: surprisingly very nice!

355mL can, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out some gentle rustic saison yeast, with gentle grape skins and a tiny hint of funk. Flavour is surprisingly good, with a nice grape skin character, some rustic notes, and a hint of wild yeast. The grape character is surprisingly bold and combines well with the saison yeast. What the hell...? This is very good… especially for the price (< $4).
