A new language of yeast-driven IPA is emerging and Dageraad wants to add to the vocabulary. These IPAs are driven by new strains of yeast that can transform odorless compounds in hops and grain into vividly fruity thiols, changing understated old world hops into fruit bombs.
New Slang is a series of new IPAs where we will explore combinations of yeasts and ingredients to see what new taste experiences we can create.

Dullish colour, like almost murky dull. Thin head. Smells dull but tastes a fair bit brighter, especially on the dried flower hop notes. The malts are a little bit sticky, nothing doing there. A slice of alcohol, but at least the hops come across well. Still, the ferm isn't bringing the noise...this year feels like it would be okay in an APA but can't do the high abv.

Blond colour, quite clean. Aroma of orange peel, piney resins, vegetable matter, light menthol. It's mostly dry, with a lightly oily mouthfeel; mild bready malt base; decent bitterness level, the hop profile is similar to what is found in the aroma, lingering between fruity and minty.
Weird but quite good.

Poured from the tap. Slightly hazy gold with small white head. Tropical melon-y and floral hops with underlying sweetness. Slightly muddled, but I don’t dislike it.

On tap at Dageraad, pours a cloudy pale golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out a rather chaotic yeast expression along with very perfumey, floral hops and plenty of alcohol — I assume the yeast is responsible for this abrasive character. Flavour is a little better, with lots of floral hops, perfumey notes, and alcohol. Very chaotic, perfumey character. Doesn't suffer from the usual problems that hazies suffer from, but it's a really abrasive concoction nonetheless. This isn't working at all for me.
