Inspired by Tmavé Pivo, and created using bohemian malt, an enhanced decoction mash, and a large amount of Czech Saaz hops. It pours a dark chocolate brown with a lasting, creamy head. Let the aromas of walnut, pumpernickel and caramelized fig awaken the flavours of milk chocolate and herbal spice, with a subtle roasted character and clean finish.

6oz mlíko pour pour at the brewery. Pours murky brown with a light beige head. Rye bread on the nose. Flavour has dark chocolate, light nuts, rye bread, and a touch of figs. Sweetness is there in the background. Solid body. This is a complex dark lager that is consistently enjoyable.

Dark brown, thick head. Toasty, chocolatey nose, little bit of coffee in there. Fairly full body, again a complex malt note, the rye coming in full force in the finish. So chewy. Crunching on grains. Solid body for a 5% beer, plenty of residual sugars. Hits in all directions.

Draft pour enjoyed at Luppolo. Dark and thick black pour, even more dense than the porter side by side. Long lasting tan cream foam head retention. Malt forward nose, and quite inviting. Smooth taste, flavorful lager, toasty constant. Cool constant, nice balance of flavors all ending on a toast note. Long burnt finish. Excellent dark lager.

On tap at Luppolo, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small white head. Aroma is full of crusty rye bready malt and toasted nuts. Flavour is clean and bold, with bready malt, crusty rye bread, and a nice bitterness. Really nice rye character. Very good.
