12 oz can poured, picked up at Special Brews. I've decided that 12 oz can of BA brew from Single Hill, it's automatically a standout, excellent product. Dark brown, near black pour. Moderate foam head that slowly fades. Layered aroma with chocolate, caramel, coconut, and oak. Aroma really suggests a big dessert beer, but flavor remains more bold than that. Coconut and chocolate are definitely up front, and the main focus here, but more subtle notes of coffee and bourbon round this out nicely. Toasty coconut and barrel finish. Nothing harsh about this big barrel stout. All smooth and delicious. Incredible brew. Must love coconut.

Can, tasting at Ryan's
Dark colour, near black. Aroma of roasted malt and vanilla. Full bodied, moderately sweet, rich malt and choclate flavour, with hints of cacao, whiskey, canilla, light smoke; warming alcohol.
Excellent.

12oz @ Ryan's. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: cold coffee, some coconut, a meaty base again (am I getting crazy?). Taste: very sweet, mix of coffee and coconut. Cannot really separate bourbon from the mix, though. Overall: good one.

Poured from 355mL can. Dark brown with small beige head. Roast malt, some cocoa and mild coffee with just a feint hint of coconut. Has a coffee cake like eminence. Decent and understated.

Dark brown. The aroma is toasty, nutty, lots of coffee. On the palate, the vanilla softens up that coffee, but it's still fairly harsh. There's a blast of alcohol in the finish. A touch of toffee, and more nutty coffee notes. The complexity is there, but I wouldn't say that it's especially refined. The coconut does show up in the finish, though.

12 oz. can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is interestingly fruity, with plenty of cocoa, light coconut, dark dried fruits, and subdued bourbon barrels. Flavour is rich, with a wonderful mix of bourbon, fruity chocolate cake, light coffee and a hint of coconut. The adjuncts all blend together nicely, while the bourbon adds a wonderful dimension. The palate is oily and silky, with very light carbonation that is perfectly fitting. This is a beauty.
