At the source, not far from the hotel. Almost clear, honey gold, nicely frothy short pour at their taproom. Bitter charred veg & faint dank nose.Big & obvious astringent black tea & honey. Creamy, building veg bitterness, barky/nutty almost oxidized, tea tannins & associated acidity. Good+.

On tap at Peticolas, pours a clear copper orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out English bready malt and light toasted caramel. Flavour is dry, with a sort of metallic character and English bready malt. Seems a bit too metallic for me. Not bad but I don't get how this is ranked so high in style.

Sampled at the 2014 Untapped festival in Fort Worth. Pours near clear amber orange with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a syrupy grapefruit light citrus and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has more of a resinous pine with a bit of grapefruit and a sweet grain backbone.
