Multi grain beer with addition of leek and lemon. The leek gives this beer a dry, sulfur like touch. The fullness of the wheat, oats and rye flows over into a suble sourness from the lemon. 2,7% vol.

21/VIII/18 - 33cl bottle from a trade, shared @ home - BB: 23/IV/19 (2018-1065) Thanks to Bierridder_S for the trade!

Little cloudy blond to orange beige beer, irregular, big bubbled off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit oxidized, malty, some almonds and marzipan, fruity, caramel. lots of sweet ripe banana, notes of band-aid. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: some oranges, bit sourish, fruity, soft bitterness, bit malty, watery. Aftertaste: bit yeasty, sourish touch, some citrus, more bananas, bitter touch, burned rubber, rather unpleasant. Not big fan of this...

Bottle from Geers; Very hazy blond colour, white foam. Grassy and citrussy, notes of lemon peel, some light sweet fruity notes. Rather dry and bitter. Nice experiment.

New Verzet beer, one that seeks connection with the current hype of low ABV beers, but a bit of a weirdo in terms of ingredients, as this is flavoured with lemon and leek. The malt bill contains spelt and rye next to barley as well. Thick, coarse, large-bubbled, quickly collapsing, irregular, opening, snow white head, cloudy straw blonde robe with vaguely peachy tinge. Aroma of lemon zest and indeed the sweetness of stewed leeks and leek soup, straw, apple peel, lemonbalm, cucumber, orange, banana bread, fresh green onions, vague dash of something vanilla-like. Crisp, spritzy onset, sweetish and sourish with lively carbonation adding body; green apple, unripe banana and light lemon zest notes, soapy and supple mouthfeel, fuller than expected based on ABV. Cereally, bready and dimly 'rye spicy' basis upon which a colourful, zesty and oniony hoppiness is built, its oniony character underligned by the leeks, which are clearly noticeable - but strangely fit in well. Adequately bitter, refreshing finish. Verzet pulled it off: creating an idiosyncratic, colourful variation on what is basically a session IPA of sorts, with both the lemon and the leek accentuated by a clever choice of hops. I was afraid this would turn out a bit ridiculous, but this is quite a serious beer showing great skill and inventivity. Lovely summer quencher packed with colours and flavours.
