A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light caramel, coffee, nutty notes, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light butterscotch, fruity esters, light licorice notes, molasses, alcohol warmth, nice. On tap at Mellow Mushroom Myrtle Beach.

(Thanks, James "jbruner") A- Roasty, nutty, dry cocoa. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, minimal tan head. T- Nutty, slightly watery, roasty, cocoa, subtle peanut butter, dry. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, dry roasty finish. O- If you are planning for this to taste like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup (which I sort of admittedly was) you’re not gonna get it. Lots of roastiness and very nutty. Dry roasted nuts with a sprinkle of cocoa powder would pretty much some it up. There is a tiny bit of peanut butter on the finish, but otherwise it’s quite subdued and not sweet at all. Not what I wanted to get from it but it wasn’t bad either.

Draft at Yard House, in shaker. Slight ring of foam, peanut butter nose. Sweetish edge to the chocolate malt taste, not cloying. Lingering, moderately bitter finish. Not a great porter but a decent beer.

Bouteille.

This porter poured a black colour with a nice, creamy, tan coloured head. First swig was quite toasty with flavours of cocoa, light peanut butter, roasted/burnt malts. Scents of peanut butter and smoke. Finish is toasty and led sweet. Very good!

Draft. Dark brown. Thick head. Has a fun peanut and chocolate character in both the nose and the palate. Maybe a shade thin.

Bottle, 12oz. A dark brown beer topped by a small, dense, dark beige head. Quite oily. Lots of chocolate and peanut butter in the aroma, some roasted notes in the back. It’s medium bodied and pleasantly carbonated, rather oily and surprisingly dry on the palate. Peanut butter, chocolate and a nice bitterness in the flavor. There’s not much bitterness, but it suits the beer just fine. Lasting peanut butter and chocolate finish. I can’t really decide if I like it or not. Well, I like it, but it’s a bit intense in a way. But it’s sure nice anyway. 150619

Tasting at Matt’s
Black color, small frothy head. Nice aroma of roasted peanuts and dark malt. Dry mouthfeel, some dark caramel flavor, the peanut comes in an artificial way; very low bitterness.
It would work better with a sweeter and bolder beer.
