Zenit, is both the Italian and the Czech translation of the word zenith. For many beer lovers, pale lagers are the zenith of beer. To emulate the centuries old classic, we brewed this complex lager with Bohemian Pilsner malt which we decoction mashed for added colour and body. Loads of Czech Saaz hops were used in the kettle for a prominent herbal and grassy hop character that seems to escape from the glass. Aromas of lemon balm, green tea and classic noble hop spice lead to flavours of fresh baked bread and honey with a balanced bitterness that travels through the pallet.

473ml can. Pours a hazy gold with a large, frothy, long lasting, white head that leaves sticky patches of soapy lace. Mild aroma of grainy pale malt, lemon and grass. Flavour of bready pale malt, lemon zest, green tea and floral in a crisp, dry, bitter grass finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Clean, refreshing and crushable.

On tap at Luppolo. Pours hazy light gold with a white head. Nose is quite light with only hints of pale cracker malts. Flavour has dry herbal grass with very little malt supporting it. Thoroughly uninteresting; I expected better from Luppolo.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Blond coour. Both aroma and flavour have a strong component of hay, straws, rather than bread, but it's ok. The bitterness starts mildly, then rapidly increased to the end, even a bit pithy, with herbaceous and spicy elements. Overall, it's fine, at least it's not watery, but it's a bit unrefined.

Poured from the tap @ Luppolo 7th Anniversary. Hazed yellow with big white head. Clean and crisp with nice saaz hops. Seems to be a new batch. Enjoyable.

On tap at Luppolo, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out soft grassy notes, straw and biscuity malt — not nearly enough hops. Flavour is clean and easy, with straw, gentle grass and biscuity malt. Under-hopped, but it's clean and drinkable.

Medium gold, slight haze. Fairly thick head. Comes across lighter than expected, a touch of soft pale malt, moderate bitterness. Light hop, was hoping for more expression. Clean ferm, though.
