Deeper dark brown coloured body with a nicer, deeper shade of tan that still isn't light brown, but getting closer than either of the Scothes that I tried. Aroma of a good deal of squash along with some nice spice notes with the allspice, coriander seed, cardamom and yes some black tea/chai notes that come through in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; On the relative thinner side here with some nuttiness near the end along with a dash of the squash, but the black tea and spiciness from the chai is notieable in a nice way and leads to a good complexity, especially at the end. Aftertaste shows some of the sweetness from the malts with a light dose of graininess and bitterness, but the spice quality leads to a very pleasant complexity at the end. Overall, a pretty nice beer, perhaps the best of the bunch that I've tried so far, but not a great beer or one that must be tried by everyone, but for those who like spiced tea, this is nice! I sampled this pour on draught at Saugatuck Brewing Company in Saugatuck, Michigan with my one daughter when she wasn't even three yet, sampled on 10-September-2015.

bottle, old rating - Clear amber pour. Smells of chai spices and caramel malt. The flavor is mostly sweet malt and chai. Pumpkin is subtle. Medium bodied. Overall it's decent.

Pour is a murky reddish with a small white head. Aroma is some pumpkin pie spice with some vegetation. Flavor is nutmeg heavy with a spicy herbal tea. I’m not sure pumpkin pie spice and chai tea all come together in this beer as well as it could. The flavors all seem a bit harsh.

Sampled from the bottle. Pours a clear amber orange with a light brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a decent amount of chai and pumpkin spice with some sweet grains underlying. Flavor has a combination of chai, pumpkin and sweet grains.

Lots of chai on the nose but I ain’t smellin no pumpkin. Good dark copper body but barely any head. Flavour is certainly chai but only a vague nod at pumpkin. Certainly it needs work. Maybe one day it will be a star.

12oz bottle. Hmm. I’m not that impressed with this one. Too much chai. Rather straightforward malty pumkpin ale underneath, but the chai is too much for me. Would need more depth, like bourbon barrel aging, to hold up it. Nice appearance, well enough made, just not an enjoyable beer. Adjunct overload. Too bad, sounded nice.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 8/13/2015. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy ruby red color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, clove, peppercorn, caramel, brown sugar, toast, brown bread, light nuttiness, and herbal/spice earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of pumpkin, chai spices, and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of big pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, clove, peppercorn, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, and herbal/spice earthiness. Light-moderate herbal hop/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, clove, peppercorn, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, light nuttiness, and herbal/spice earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of pumpkin, chai spices, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and lightly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish, Overall this is a very good chai spiced pumpkin ale style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of pumpkin, chai spices, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. The spices generally take the main stage in the flavors, but are not overwhelming. A felt like a bit more malt flavor and body could have improved it as well. A nicely enjoyable offering.

33 cl bottle @ Sankt Hans Tasting. Ulfborg
. Aroma has odd tea aromas and some mint. Also toffee. Flavour has toffee, nuts, mint, metallic tones and some tea. Just faint traces of the pumpkin here. A bit too metallic and edgy.
