Bottle, mooch tasting, courtesy of Sergey and the gang; vintage 2022, 1 year old
Dark amber colour, haze. Aroma of hazelnuts, almonds, vanilla. Full bodied, sweet, with good malt depth, caramel sauce, vanilla (from the barrels), concealing the alcohol. Very good.

500ml shared with Josh (thx for the bottle, man!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: pours like oil, pale copper with a tan head. Aroma: a bit oxidized, lots of butterscotch, some American oak and hops. Taste: along the same lines, sticky, finishes with some hoppy bitterness. Overall: good.

Amber colour, definitely hazy, not much head. The aroma has a touch of bourbon, but a lot of sticky raisin and date accents, some alcohol showing in there a bit as well. The carbonation is fine, but it seems to be a bit odd for the style, bringing out fruitiness, maybe some apples. The malts are sticky and bitterness is low. The bourbon helps round out those malts, but there's sort of a depth piece missing. Good, but could be better.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Hazed copper amber with small off white head. Lots of raisin, touch of toffee and vanilla, mild bourbon backing. Decent.

500mL bottle, pours a clear dark amber with a small off-white bead. Aroma reveals rich bourbon, dark fruits, toffee and some brown sugar. Flavour is very rich, with tons of butterscotch, bourbon barrels, and brown sugar. The bourbon is well-integrated. The butterscotch character is prominent and finishes the palate, but it's not that complex on the palate. Nicely done but far from a top tier barley wine.

Half liter bottle pours with a clear copper to amber colored body that supports a tiny ring of near white foam. The aroma offers up caramel, brown sugar stewed, a dash of dates and then a touch of boozy heat to the snoot. The taste provides a balanced smooth slick rewarding experience. I get a pleasing firm layer of smooth sweet caramel candy blending smoothly with plums and a bit of dates. To midway it picks up thin soft supple barrel notes leading to a modest boozy burn. This really is a well balanced well put together sipper. Dang. Need more. Holy Hell this is good.
