Cracks in the Pyre was brewed using a specialty English malts, along with some malted wheat and a touch of corn, hopped in the kettle with EKG and fermented with our favorite English yeast strain. A little nod to the east drinking expressive English beers that got us into beer in the first place.

Draft at the first Avenue venue in Seattle. Pours moderate copper with a monstrous creamy whitehead that collapsed while lacing down. Aroma a very, very lightly roasting malt with something like floral hop. Medium body. Flavor is rather malty and it’s not entirely dry but pretty dry. not quite sure where to place it in the English ale pantheon.

Golden and bright, thick head. Big pale malt, sweet, light bit of herbal hop. Good balance, mellow and malt accented golden ale.

On tap at Holy Mountain - Phinney, pours a clear bright golden with a medium white head. Aroma is pretty neutral, with English malt, bready notes and very subtle hops. Flavour is surprisingly hoppy, with English bready malt, some gentle citrusy hops, and biscuity notes. For a boring style, this is coming across very nicely. Probably helps that it's not casked. Pretty much as good as this style can be.
