Bottle from Mad Squirrel, Amersham. Poured a clear dark brown colour with an off white head. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, fudgy caramel, light dry coffee. The flavour is moderate sweet. light bitter with a dry, crisp, malt, dry coffee, hop bitter palate. medium bodied with soft carbonation.

330ml bottle. Round and smooth, intense with lots of caramel, round and intense. Chocolate, dry roasted grain, smooth. Nice!

Keg at Amersham beer shop, Amersham, Bucks. A dark ruby/brown coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Roasty, malty, spice aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, spice. Pleasant.

Keg at the Craft Beer Shop, Amersham, 19/12/15. Dark mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is dark malt, pinch of spice, biscuit, trace of liquorice, toffee. Taste comprises light cocoa, raisens, dark fruit rinds, brown bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light hop bitterness. Decent for style.

Draught @ [ London Craft Beer Festival 2014 ] @ Oval Space, 29-32 The Oval, London, Greater London, England, E2 9DT. [ As Red Squirrel Black Squirrel ].Clear medium to dark red brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white silver head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, hay - grass, light grain. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, grain, hay - grass, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140817]

Keg tap at the Grain Store, Cambridge. Dark brown, a fair bit of light seeping through. Little head or noticeable carbonation. Nutty and roast barley smell, not very strong. Hint of coffee. Taste is fairly bitter at first with some berry notes, warming to a rounded malty sweetness. More bitterness in the finish. Very nice.

Keg at the chesham brewery shop. Clear dark brown caramel. Thin lasting cream head. Aroma is nutty, mineral and sweet caramel and a faint touch of roast. Flavour is clean lager ferment with nutty caramel Munich malt and touch of roast in the finish. Some light fruit notes. Decent. Light sweetness. Some earthy hop in the finish.
