Released alongside Experimental IPA #51, we wanted to test two very different beers with the addition of spruce tips and see how the various yeast and hop varieties interacted. The spruce tips are upfront in both of these beers and combine in unique and interesting ways.

On tap at brewery. Pours clear gold-yellow with foamy white head. Aroma has mango and light citrus hops. Flavour was predominantly mango, but in a good way. I didn't get much spruce here. Really well-done IPA.

On tap at Superflux, pours a minimally hazy bright golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright piney hops, moderate spruce tips, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour brings out a nice spruce tip character, along with piney and resinous hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Nice incorporation of the spruce, and the base beer is well-structured. I haven't liked any of their WCIPAs in a while, but this is decent.

Poured from the tap. Chill hazed gold with small white head. Citrus and melon hops with lots of sprucey berry notes. Dry-ish finish. Surprisingly decent. “Spruce tips on my lips” as they say.
