Affectionately dubbed “Monty” by the Fair Isle team, we are jazzed to finally share batch three of this special beer with you all. Aged in second-use gin casks from Copperworks and dosed with larch tips, Montgomery doubles down on botanical character with this distinctive foraged ingredient.

On tap at Fair Isle, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is very herbal and earthy, with tons of the larch tips showcasing, along with strong gin, and rustic saison yeast in back. Flavour is very herbal, with lots of gin botanicals, earthy notes from the larch tips, and subdued rustic notes. Dominated by the larch and gin. This new version doesn't work any better for me than the initial two batches.

Pale with big spruce aroma. Medium body, light acidity. Well balanced. Nice complexity. Ok, my review doesn't reflect the rich cherry, the depth of character. Monty 2 was awesome, this is probably better.
