750 ml bottle. Pours a thick black color with short tan head. Aromas of oak, soy sauce, molasses, sour mash, and slick roasted malts. Flavors of roasted malts, dark powdery chocolate and vanilla. Interesting, though not what I would expect from bourbon barrels. May be a bit of a souring effect.

Tasting at Matt's, bottle
Black colour, with tan head. Aroma of dark malts, vanilla, wood. High carbonated, the body I a bit thin, possible additional fermentation, because it may have a mild Brett character; a lot of roasted malts, and roasted malt bitterness. It's ok, but not my kind.

Pours black. Aroma has crusty malts, brown sugar, and soy sauce. Flavour has good dark toasted malts and bourbon notes with an underlying sweet malt. Flavour is really nice, needs a bit of aging for the bourbon flavours to blend with the rest. Nice carbonation.

750ml shared with Phill and the gang @ Matt's new place. Appearance: very dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: very rough wood, inky, earthy. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: omg, this is not good at all.

750mL bottle, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out big time bourbon barrels, lots of chocolate, and medium roast. Flavour is big, with lots of roasted malt, plenty of bourbon barrels, and some dark sugars. The cohesion isn't the best, but the barrels impart a nice character, and the base beer seems reasonable. Not bad.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Black with small tan head. Woody musty whiskey, dark chocolate, some soy sauce, mild roast. The musty wood note is quite intense. Decent, but not elegant.
