A creamy headed, smooth amber ale, reflecting its 100% malt mash. A subtle bitterness from Manx grown hops giving a clean taste and aroma, with a slight fruit/spice after taste – good all round session beer reflecting the beer purity laws under which it was produced.

Cask at GBBF ’14. Mid- to dark gold with a lively natural head. Takes a while to clear. Fresh aroma of orange peel, sea salt, sulphur, lemon butter. Very Burtonesque. There is an astringent bittersweet initial taste which gives way to an almost savoury/salty finish. Aftertaste carries some bitter/sour intensity. Weak body but high in natural carbonation. Salty aftertaste stays and stays, leaves you wanting more. Overall: nice but unassuming. A cut above the average best bitter, although I think I’m benefitting from having this in perfect condition. This would be ruined if even slightly past its best.
