The brewers teamed up to create this old-fashioned-inspired imperial stout conditioned on bourbon-infused oak and orange peel. Light orange peel aroma blends with dark roast coffee and bread flavour from malts, toasted marshmallow and vanilla from the oak, and a touch of bourbon kick in the aftertaste. Firm bitterness from hops and orange peel. Semi-dry clean finish.

Flight at brewery. Pours black. Aroma brings out roasted malts and a little bit of espresso. Flavour has a lot of rounded roasted malts, a good amount of hoppy bitterness, and a bit of espresso. Really well done.

On tap at Parallel 49, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out smooth toasted malt, a touch of roast, and subtle dry cocoa. Flavour is rich and roasty, with a solid, dry roasted malt base, a touch of espresso and cocoa, and ample hops to back. Pretty solid impie in the RIS style. I also don't notice any orange peel or bourbony oak. Very nice. P49's best in a long while.

Dark brown, thin head. Light chocolate, off-dry, fair bit of bitterness. More of a lighter, drinkable impy in the old rasputin style. I like the hoppiness, goes in a black dipa direction for me. And I definitely didn't notice any bourbon or orange peel. I can get behind that.
