600mL bottle. Pours black with thin tan head. Aroma has bourbon barrels, roasted malt, chocolate, coconut. Flavour is similar; bourbon notes are strong. Could be a bit better integrated, but still quite good.

22oz (thx, Matt!) @ Phill's during Gene's visit. Appearance: very dark brown with dark beige head. Aroma: American oak, toasted barrel, sweetness, some dark fruits. Taste: along the same lines, quite thick, but it's also boozy and hot. Overall: pretty good, but it requires some sophistication and balancing works.

22 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is very rich, with lots of iron, bourbon barrels, some dark sugars, and medium roast. Flavour is very rich, with intense bourbon barrels, lots of booze, some iron, and dark sugars. Very boozy -- almost too hot -- with a great barrel character. A bit harsh but very tasty.

Dark brown. Walnut, soy sauce, and a big bourbon character. It's the same on the palate - toasty, soy sauce, nutty, and just a good complex all-round balance. Fairly boozy in the finish.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Black with small tan head. Woody bourbon, some mild dark fruits in the background, taste is better than the aroma, but quite boozy. Enjoyable Hellshire.
