Field Blend is a gauntlet thrown at the feet of imperial time. It is a pox on the clockmakers. It is a love letter to those not present.

2023 Black/Blue Field Blend was made from barrel-aged saison refermented on blackberries and blueberries grown organically at Sidhu Farms in the Puyallup River Valley. This was combined with beer made from rare plums and cherries, and beer made from late harvest organic peaches/nectarines, all from Collins Family Orchards.

This beer was refermented to condition in the bottle.

Bottle thanks to Anthony. Pours purple with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is blackberry, funk, oak, yeast, earth. Slick body, blackberry, blueberry, funk, wood, earthy, nice tartness, enjoyed this.

750ml (thx, Joe S. for a pick-up and Joe for bringing it through the border!) @ Matt's house. Appearance: dark purple with a rose head. Aroma: a real explosion of berries, smells like a berry jam and compote, some manure, and a bit funk. Taste: along the same lines, manure, funk, loads of berries, nice carbonation. Finishes with manure, berries, tannins, wood. Overall: complex and very nice.

Poured from 750mL bottle (bottled 11/16/2023). Fairly hazy reddish purple with small off white head. Blueberry, plum, some good flavour notes, but ultimately I don't feel like it all comes together cohesively. Good, but not great.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark burgundy/mahogany with a small off-white, pinkish head. Aroma brings out lots of tart blueberries, some plums and peaches, some pithy blackberries, and a touch of bugginess. Flavour has lots of tart blueberries, some blackberries, a little peaches and plums. The bugs take a backseat beneath this rather murky blend of fruits. It's good, but it's not complex nor particularly invigorating. Still good but not an elite beer from Floodland.
