Johannieter Vintage. Bottle. Brown/black with a decent beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, fruitiness and some dark chocolate. Taste is malts, dark chocolate, some cocoa, a little bit of coffee, caramel and fruit drops. Medium bitterness and slightly acidic. Medium to strong carbonation. Nice. Very interesting take on a Doppelbock.

On tap as Johanneiter Vintage. Pours a dark brown with light heads. Aromas of sour wheaty malts, nutty chocolate and cola. Flavors follow same. A full tasty doppelbock.

Sampled draft @ ’t Taphuys during Roadburn 2018. Hopefully this beer, labelling at ‘t Taphuys was a travesty during this visit, very unclear & clearly wrong in a few cases. Dark brown amber, tanned head. Nose is bit too metallic, overly BE dark fruit, overly,… Crude overly sweet BE, caramel, sugar, overripe fruit, metallic, messy, too sweet, too BE. Meh.

Almost black with quick fading head. Aroma and flavour have some light chocolate notes and a little liquorice too. Fairly rich and full bodied. Has a very muted sweetness.

A dark brown beer, a head is medium and light brown. Aroma has wheat, bread, some fruit esters, and chocolate, unfortunately also cooked cabbage. Taste has chocolate, smooth maltyness, some fruitness, low spicyness, slightly warming. Medium bodied, nicely smooth. Aroma isn't so nice, but then the taste is much better.
