On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small off-white head. Nose brings out plenty of brett, very sour fruits and heaps of caramel. Flavour is intensely sour, with lots of tart red fruits, caramel and plenty of brett. Ordinarily, this amount of sourness in a barley wine would be a dealbreaker, but the brett tempers it a bit and makes the whole thing a bit more cohesive. Strange and it sure I could drink much of this, but it's a fun, strange James experiment.
