For our version of a New England-Style IPA we began with a malt bill consisting of 45% flaked malts for a soft and inviting mouthfeel. Citra, Galaxy, Denali and some Experimental hops known for their intense tropical flavor were used to provide the fruit forward profile that is highly coveted in this style. The result is an incredibly hazy orange body crowned by a fluffy white head. Melon, Papaya and Pineapple hop notes dominate both the aroma and flavor profile accompanied by a very low bitterness level.

16oz can pours a pulpy orange with some sticky, white head. Nose has melon, orange sherbet, pineapple curd. The flaked malts don't read as honeyed as some of the NE styles with oats. Flavor tapers off some, the citrus reads more pith than juice, the malt character reads a little tannic and papery, raw pineapple and green papaya now. Finishes a touch green and tannic.

On tap at Max's Taphouse, pours a cloudy peachy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lightly dank hops, with tropical stone fruits and biscuity malt. Flavour is dry and bitter, with some tropical stone fruits, pithy yeasty, and biscuity malt. Pithy and dry. Good stuff.
