Not exactly black but red-brown. Sorachi ace is unfortunately present in the aroma; it has dill and ripe fruits. Flavour has strong dill notes, some herbs and ripe fruits. Also plastic and lingering minerals in the finish. Sorachi Ace - why oh why.

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Strong woody aromas, pine, something almost menthol. Taste is chewy, woody, creamy on the finish. Bit of a challenge.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Dark brown body with a thin beige cap. Good lacing. Aroma of chocolate sponge, pine and cat litter. Flavour of wood, Ryvita biscuit, chalk and sorrel. Dry, dusty finish. Medium body with a creamy, almost chewy texture. Light fizz. Sorachi Ace is such a hit or miss hop. For me it doesn’t quite work here. I’d probably have loved this beer if it had been brewed with a different hop.

Keg at the hanging bat... Dark red brown... Thin tan lacing... Soft blackcurrant fruits nose.... Big fizz... Dry roast... Woody malts.. Light pine... Little soapy
