Holy Mackerel is an expression usually used to express astonishment and delight. It was definitely our first reaction to this flavourful brew. But we also chose the name as a testimonial to a distinct feature of a Lunenburg County summer when the great school of Atlantic mackerel leave their deep water homes and flood into the shallow waters of Mahone Bay. There on the docks and piers that reach into the Bay you will see the evening silhouettes of the South Shore Mackerel fishers hoping to catch a good feed for the barbecue and smoke house.

This APA poured a medium amber colour with a creamy light yellow head. Minimal lacing. Scents include resin, floral notes and a little caramel. First swig was smooth and creamy with flavours of floral notes, cereal and bread. Finish is lightly bitter with light hoppiness lingering.
