Now this is a seriously full-bodied ale. Bishop Nick wasn’t burnt at the stake in 1555. This rich tawny beer is a tribute to defiance. With an unmistakably sweet nutty taste underlined by the ginger and fruit of Styrian goldings, 1555 shall not be moved.

500ml bottle from brewery via ebira. Amber beer with a thin head. Aroma has pine hops and bitter orange. Taste is fruity, with orange peel, malt and pine.

500ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, slightly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish malty aroma with a nuttily touch, slightly floral, fruity hoppy overtones with a gooseberry touch, Taste is bitter, slightly soapy, cautiously malty, green and "shrubby". Nope.

Clear amber color, steady off-white head. Aroma is grassy, a bit woody, malty. Light-bodied, somewhat watery. Front is light fruity, watermelon, pear. Then some English hoppyness in the aftertaste. Way too watery for my liking. BBE 02/2015 but maybe the best edge is gone?

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Clear amber beer, tidy cream coloured head. Light palate, a little crisp and mildly dry. Orange and honey, mildly tangy. Semi dry finish. Fresh and tasty.
