Mooch tasting, courtesy of the gang, bottle
Almost black, viscous, no head. Rich aroma of chocolate and vanilla. Very sweet, but with a sour note (the dark malts?); dark chocolate, roasted malts, nuts (the maple probably), and bourbon; the bitterness takes a vegetable turn. I'm not fully convinced by the acidity presence.

500ml (thx, Jonathan M. and Greg for an online release heads-up!) @ Matt's new place. Appearance: almost black with no head. Aroma: heavy, lots of barrels, sweet, sticky, some berries. Taste: along the same lines, EXTREMELY barrel-forward, sweet, some berries. Overall: very nice sipper, I believe it could benefit, though, from the addition of a younger BBA IS.

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is pretty exquisite, with a nice bourbon barrel complexity, a touch of maple syrup barrels, and a touch of roast. Flavour is pretty hot, with complex bourbon barrels, plenty of maple syrup, and booze. Aggressive, somewhat harsh, somewhat boozy, but integrated well. Needs some of its harsher edges rounded out. It's good, but a bit rough.

Very inky. Refined bourbon aroma, subtle vanilla, lots of dark malts, and a touch of alcohol. Quite sweet, and rich. Pretty good rich malt character, again with nice vanilla, with some burnt fruit finish. So it's rich and intense. But I do like it.

Poured from 500mL bottle (2023 vintage). Very dark brown with no head. Lots of bourbon, some maple and chocolate, a bit boozy and hot, but still decent.
