Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark brown pour with a ridiculous big frothy tan head, aroma is yeasty drank it and there’s a bit of coffee going on along with roasted malts, creamy mouthfeel, some citrus action is fighting to get out, a conflicting beer.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - toffee and fruit salad. Taste - like pineapple wrapped in toffee and biscuits. Palate - medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a dry tangy finish. Overall - interesting beer.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Dark brown body with a thin beige head that slowly fades. Nice lacing. Aroma of green hops, pepper and dusty oatcakes. Flavour of weak filter coffee, sharp lime and funky yeast. Medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Fizzy carbonation. Unusual, nice.

Keg at Cloisters. Pours black with a thick beige head. Pine and roast aromas, smells like black IPA territory. Taste has a good bitterness, but not quite as dry as I’d expect from a saison (FG apparently 1012, or thereabouts, one of the brewers told me). Good thick mouthfeel, nice texture. Easy drinking for near 6%. Lovely beer.
