355ml bottle. Jet black colour with slightly late awakening, small, creamy, fading, tan head. Sweet-ish, mildly roasty, chocolately, dark malty and spicy aroma, notes of cinnamon, chili, vanilla, dark chocolate, cocoa, chocolate sauce, hints of allspice, ginger, aniseed. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty and heavily spicy as well as slightly fruity alcoholic, lots of cinnamon, notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, chili, vanilla, black pepper, hints of cherry, a touch of red berries; well embedded, slowly accumulating peppery spiciness; minimally warming, alcoholic as well as spicy finish.
Viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, soft to flat, creamy carbonation.
Excellent composition, rich and manifold, superb quality of spicy adjuncts - great!

Bottle picked up from the Wren House event Himmeriget and drunk at home - black with a tiny tan dissipating head. Intense dark spiced malty with chilli and cinnamon, not too spicy for my palate, oozing sweet chocolate and cakey malts, lovely smooth mouthfeel and full bodied, beautiful barrel character as well, vanilla edged lingering spiced malty finish. Gorgeous.

12oz orange waxed bottle pours with a nice deep dark colored body that supports a thin ring of tan bubbles. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, some booze to the snoot, a bit of nuttiness and faint cinnamon right before the boozy heat takes over. The taste delivers smooth slick sweet velvety dark chocolate and thin dark roasted maltiness as well as some modest oaky barrel character. Toward midway the layer of boozy spirits muscles forward in the experience creating a pleasing counter to the fairly decedent notes to this point. Amidst the barrel notes a dark fruity brandy sensation creates another level of yum. Into the finish a murmur of cinnamon spice is noticed just as a mild chili pepper heat bubbles weakly to the surface. This is well executed and a terrific sipper.
