Bottle shared at Dorst. Very dark brown with a beige head. Notes of coffee, roasted malts, pine resin, some orange zest and some vanilla in the background. Medium body, high carbonation and a roasty and hoppy finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of (collab with) BIIR Macchiato on 30 Sep 2016 at 22:12 - Score: 8

Pours black , good grey head. Smell is Sharp bitter, coffee tones, dark malts. Taste is Sharp, intense coffee and bitterness. Very hidden vanilla. Overcarbonated. Burnt roastyness. Too much coffee for me, would have hoped for more vanilla.

Thx! for sharing Benzai! Sampled draft @ Van Moll Fest 2016. Black little head lacing. Nose is huge mocha, caramel, cacao, sweet basic milk chocolate, low grainy coffee. Taste is milk chocolate, low ground coffee, faitn ashes, coffee, milky, sweet cheap desert,… Lightly grainy body, light. Cheap chocolate, decent & fun enough. Not bad but wouldn’t call this an IPA. This is a sweet stout or just stout.
