In the early spring of 2013, our friend Luc “Bim” Lafontaine traveled from Japan, where he was brewing at the time. More than a decade later, we continue to revisit this fond memory through the recreation of the beer first brewed with him.

From time to time, happenstance and whimsy converge to offer different expressions of this ale of mixed fermentation with lime and blood orange. In this case, a unique barrel arrived sympathetic to Brother Soigné’s characteristics.

A portion of Brother Soigné was aged in freshly emptied Oaxacan Mezcal barrels that previously held white wine.

These ales continue to embody the spirit of perpetual creative collaboration in conjunction with disciplined brewing endeavors.

Great aroma, complex, citric, funky. Lightly sweet, some citrus rind, modest acidity, mild lemony tang, tangerine, a little white pepper, wood. Super drinkable.
