Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is sticky caramel malt with raisins, toffee, figs, and syrup. Flavour is quite sweet with some bitterness in the finish. Body is full with a sticky mouthfeel. Way on the sweet side and I don't get much coffee, still an enjoyable Barley Wine with plenty of caramel toffee and dried dark fruits.

Bottle. Amber color. Sweet flavor with soft sour notes, honey and figs. Soft herbal notes. Soft roasty aroma. Too sweet for me.

Geprobeerd met Inoven op het Tilburgs Bierfestival. Het is een troebel bruin bier met een volle schuimkraag. Het heeft een coffee achtige geur. De smaak is moutig gebrand 'n koffie achtig.

Bottle @ home. First, I'd like to point out that while this beer I'd called "Poor Man's Coffee", this beer was more expensive than any coffee I've ever bought. At the local super market coffee is free even, so if anything: that one should be considered poor man's coffee. Anyway: The bottle had a bright yellow mark saying 'limited edition' so of course I bought it without giving it a second thought, being the collector that I am. Dark ruby colour with a small to medium sized beige head. Smells sweet, plums, raisins mostly. Tastes very sweet, plums, Roosvice, quite metallic/rusty. The beer's quite disappointing to be honest. Very sweet, unbalanced and the metallic finish kinda kills it for me. I usually like these brewers so I guess I expected more. Full body, soft to medium carbo.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 04-01-2020. Clear copper color, short frothy head. Aroma of caramel, burned malts, slight spicy yeast, butterscotch, appelstroop. Quite sweet in taste, burned caramel. Pretty straightforward, plus I have no clue what cascara is, but its pretty tasty as well. I like it.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub. Beautiful dark amber, almost purple color with an average to medium sized off-white to beige head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is sweetish, a bit floral, blossomy, lightly candy notes. Flavor is similar: malts, sweetish maltiness, candy. In the finish some malt bitterness comes through. Mainly sweet though and actually an ok barleywine even though it's somewhat different from your usual classic barleywine. Then again, how many "classic" barleywines are being brewed nowadays? Not bad.

Bottle at Flink Gegist festival. Clear reddish brown with short lasting head. Strong sweet sugary malts, alcohol, light veggies, figs, rum, sugar. Very sweet with alcoholic bitterness. Full bodied. Sweet and alcoholic, not terrible but not my thing.
