Keg at the brewpub, Nashville, as Stephanies Dubbel 15/02/15. Clear amber with a decent light beige covering. Nose is toffee, biscuit, malt, yeast esters, candied fruit, light spice. Taste comprises banana, clove, toffee, burnt sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough dubbel, balances sweet with bitterness and doesn’t get cloying.

(On tap) Clear, dark amber with a creamy, off-white head. A bit unusual for the style with a filtered Dubbel. Complex, vinous aroma with touches of rum and yeast. Medium body with some delicious malty accents and complex, fruity notes. A bit of yeast and diacetyl, but this remains a very nice beer throughout. 300306
