Draught at Harry's Hofbrau in Redwood City. Pours a clear born with minimal off-white head of small bubbles that quickly fades to collar. Rich plum and cherry. Alcohol notes very present. Taste is rich, but there is a bit too much of a nod to the alcohol here; which shows higher than a 10%er to me. Caramel throughout.

Sample at the Ballast Point tasting room in Temecula. The beer pours a deep reddish-brown color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, malt and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, vanilla and caramel malt. Some hops in the background. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Keg at BP Little Italy, 13/11/14. Rich amber with reddish hues topped with a moderate beige swirl and edgeing. Nose is bourbon, oak, caramel, light spice, dark fruit rinds, orchard tones, toffee apple. Taste comprises toasted brown sugar, candied fruit peel, toffee, sweet licks, subtle bourbon oak soak splash dash. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light warming alochol in the close. Solid enough BA strong, bitter edge kicks in at the close which tempers the sweetness well.

From tap. Pours hazy dark orange with a small tan head. Aroma is solid hops fruity. Smooth fruity hops mixed with a distinct velvet bourbon note. Bitter and smooth caramelish. Lingering sweet and bitter to fruity flavoured finish.
